By air: Almeria International Airport
Almería International Airport is one of the key partners in the promotion of tourism in the province.
Located in the heart of the Bay of Almería, eight kilometers from the city, it is ideally connected to the rest of tourist destinations in the province, such as Cabo de Gata, Aguadulce, Roquetas de Mar, El Ejido or Mojácar.
During the decade of 1990s Almeria airport traffic grew non-stop reaching almost one million passengers a year in 2000. To accommodate this demand the passenger terminal building was remodelled in 1995, in 2002 the new cargo terminal was inaugurated and in 2009 the new Departures Lounge was finished.
